In the spirit of Love Month and the aftermath of 2020, are you looking for self-care tips to improve your daily routine? Here are some simple yet effective practices to boost your well-being and quality of life.

(1) Start by creating a daily purpose that fits your personal needs. Whether it’s a morning routine or a unique activity that brings you joy, find something that gives you a sense of accomplishment and comfort.

(2) Establishing a consistent morning routine is an excellent way to give yourself purpose and structure. Consider adding a special activity that’s unique to you, such as reading a book or going for a walk.

(3) Journaling is a self-care practice that can help improve your mental health. Write about anything you want, from manifestation to gratitude, and let your pen be your listener. This is the journal I use.

(4) Instead of checking your phone first thing in the morning, conduct your morning routine or do some journaling. Starting your day off on the right foot is crucial for a positive and productive day.

(5) Staying connected with loved ones, especially during times of isolation, is a vital aspect of self-care. Schedule virtual or in-person visits, and cherish the time spent with those who matter most.

I think back to the beginning of 2020 when I was ready to move out of Los Angeles. My plan was to leave LA and experience a new city (New York was on my mind), but I’m glad I didn’t leave before the pandemic put us in lockdown. I am staying for family. Yet you never know what the future may hold.

(6) Rest is just as important as productivity. Take a break when you need it, and don’t push yourself to the point of burnout. We are wired to think “sleep is for the weak,” or we can “sleep when we’re dead,” but rest is vital.

(7) Invest in yourself, but make sure your investments will truly benefit your well-being. Examples of my latest investments: Dyson hair dryer, Audible, AppleTV and a new office chair.

(8)Walk. Discover the benefits of walking and know that it is scientifically proven to help you live longer by boosting your vitamin D levels. Plus, outdoor area is just refreshing!

(9 ) Say no with no regret. It’s healthy to set boundaries and do it without feeling guilty. There is no need for inadequacy or disappointment. Communicate your limitations and availability. It can prevent misunderstandings and foster healthier relationships. When you choose to prioritize your own needs and mental health, you’re re-affirming the importance of “you.”

(10) Enhance your life with a morning grooming session. Spend time fixing your hair, applying makeup if that’s your thing, and putting on an outfit that makes you feel good. even if you’re not leaving the house. This small act can have a significant impact on your mental state, as it helps you feel more prepared to take on the day and brings a sense of normalcy to your routine, which is something many of us have been missing since the pandemic began.
