A new year means new beginnings, another chance to make dreams happen, a new canvas to paint existing or recently acclaimed goals, but it also means the earth has completed yet another journey around the sun. There are a lot of things I’d like to accomplish in 2016 but my animal instincts dictate I’m a creature of habit. As most are. Breaking this mold in order to achieve my new year’s resolutions will be the sweetest challenge of all. While I’m proud I successfully reached my goals for 2015, I am one to never settle and will continue to strive for more. One thing I know for sure is I will never stop expressing myself through my fashion choices.

For this look, I wanted to make a statement with a bold seasonal color palette and eye-catching print. I’m loving this collared leopard print silk top by Equipment paired with a burgundy 70’s inspired jacket by H&M. The warm tones of the blouse juxtaposed with the powerful burgundy hue make for an eye-catching ensemble.

Keeping my bottoms subdued, I went with a pair of simple pair of cropped jeans by Mother Denim. I love the wash and style of these because its cropped length shows up your typical dark denim skinnies and gives them a more casual look. Not to mention, they fit like a glove. I highly recommend this brand if you’re in the market for a new pair.

For my accessories, I decided to go glam. I wore gold-toned jewelry and a chainlink purse to bring out the color of the top. Simple shoes are a must when the rest of your outfit is loud, so I paired my simple black ankle strapped heels with this look. Always remember to keep at least one to two pieces on the plainer side so you don’t overdo it. And there you have it! A fierce, animal-inspired look perfect for casual Friday’s at work or a family outing.
