Thanksgiving weekend is finally over and the start of a new work week is here. My latest thought process when shopping these days is purchasing items I can wear to the office and for a night out. When you work in a corporate environment, you’re often bound to a dress code; but that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. It just calls for more creativity when dressing yourself in the morning.
Appropriate and fashion forward are the name of the game in the fashion corporate world. Often I wake up and the last thing I want to put on is the typical button up and high-waisted pencil skirt, so I decided to share how I styled this comfortable, yet chic office look.
I found this long sleeve trapeze dress in a boutique and I could boast about its wearability for days. It’s extremely soft and its loose silhouette makes you feel like you’re still in pajamas (how I want to feel everyday). It’s important to incorporate strong basics in your wardrobe so you can easily style one garment into multiple looks. This dress can be worn several different ways. Tie a long sleeve button up around your waist for a movie night or throw a jean jacket on for a casual weekend look.
To polish it up, I paired it with a white blazer from Zara for a crisp and clean monochrome finish. I possess a number of blazers because they are the perfect work-appropriate outerwear. You can add one to almost any casual outfit and bam…professionalism and comfort.
My handbag is by Sonia Rykiel, a vintage heirloom from my grandmother (yes, yet another), and my shoes are by New Look from ASOS. I’m currently obsessed with these pumps. The lace up and fringed tassel embellishment play up the classic pointed toe stiletto silhouette.
Comfortable dressing doesn’t always have to mean jeans and a tee. It can be about choosing items that are comfortable to wear, all while maintaining proper dress code.
