We saw it last Spring, we saw it last Fall and now, it’s back. Fringe is the word and the biggest names in the fashion game showcased it on the runway the season: Givenchy, Rebecca Minkoff, Ralph Lauren, Hervé Leger, and Alexander Wang to name a few.
Fashion trends are cyclical and there’s something about trends of the 70s that always prevail. From multicolored prints and suede to bell sleeves and bell bottoms, this decade gave us style staples we’ll never forget. Fringe is one of my favorites from the era.
I love this high waisted skirt from Nasty Gal because of its major sway status. The fringe detail is pretty weighty, so there’s a lot of movement to it when you’re struttin’. I wore a deep V chiffon bodysuit from H&M with it to show off this Luv AJ barbell cone rosary necklace and I decided to keep the jewelry tone consistent with a gold spiked bracelet. Shout out to Rocksbox for making the accessories happen.
I decided to keep the 70s trend going with a pair of circular sunnies by Quay and peep toe slingback mules by Steve Madden. To add some flare, I threw on a bowler-esque studded hat from ASOS to complete the look. And there you have it, a 70s inspired ensemble for the modern millennial. Groovy, baby.
