When Pantone awarded Color of the Year to the two prettiest pastels, Serenity and Rose Quartz, it was bound to be a fashion trend this season. Taffy-colored hues are in for SS2016, so ditch those dark tones we know so well and shed some light on your outfit choices.
For this look, I paired a baby blue A-line skirt by H&M with a white off the shoulder long sleeve top by ASOS. I love this shirt because it’s extremely soft, inexpensive and the perfect basic to pair with any outfit. Wear it with your favorite black skinnies for a casual weekend look or colored trousers for an office appropriate ensemble.
I kept my accessories and shoes monochrome by choosing a white vintage leather bag by Celine and a pair of wide-strapped flatforms by ASOS. Flatforms are my favorite style of shoe because they give you that extra height, but are extremely comfortable to wear out. I prefer these babies over heels when I go out dancing. I kept my jewelry simple with two gold rings to match the chain strap on my purse.
Last but not least, my Neo Noir sunnies by Le Specs finish off this look. I always get a ton of compliments on these and they’re my new favorite pair. I love the styles Le Specs carry and I plan to further expand my collection with this brand. I prefer large-framed sunglasses because they suit an oval-shaped face and these are the perfect size. The blue mirrored lens against the tortoiseshell triangular shape is both unique and edgy.
Pastels evoke a sense of femininity. They are light and airy, but still make a statement. Try incorporating more of these shades into your wardrobe this summer and I promise you won’t regret it. Looking like a Lucky Charm is magically delicious.
